What to bring (and not bring) for Team Langoustine Premier Camping

By Chris Ring

You’ve booked Team Langoustine Premier Camping, which means you’re already doing Le Mans the smart way. Breakfast sorted. Evening meal sorted. A proper base. No need to wrestle with disposable BBQs or survive on warm beer and crisps. But this set-up changes what you should pack quite a lot.  In essence - don’t pack a lot!

🎒 What you should bring

✔️ A proper sleeping set-up

You’ll be there from Thursday (maybe earlier) - comfort matters.

  • Decent airbed or camp bed

  • Warm sleeping bag or bedding (it can get cold at night)

  • Pillow (don’t underestimate this)

You’ll enjoy the race a lot more if you’ve actually slept.

✔️ Power, the smart way

There’s no pitch-side power, but there are charging lockers available.

That means:

  • Bring power banks for day-to-day use

  • Charge devices while you’re out or sleeping

  • Don’t rely on having everything plugged in at once

✔️ Late night snacks (not a full supermarket shop)

With catering included, you’ve already got:

  • Breakfast ✅

  • Delicious evening meal ✅

Plus Team Langoustine have a great bar serving cold pints of beer, cider of various flavours, wine, soft drinks and more until very late.

Lunch? If still hungry after a full Team Langoustine cooked breakfast, there are tasty pay-as-you-go options like pizza, burgers and baguettes on-site. Or you can explore the options to eat trackside around the Circuit de la Sarthe.

So maybe just bring some snacks for those late nights around your tent.

❌ BBQs, fire pits, or cooking gear

Simple one: not needed and frowned upon by the ACO

Your food needs are sorted at Team Langoustine premier camping.  Leave at home:

  • BBQs

  • Gas stoves

  • Cooking kits

  • Fire pits (and fireworks are included in the list of no-no’s too)

  • Cool boxes of ingredients and “Just in case” food mountains – a classic mistake for private and public camping alike

✔️ Clothes for all conditions

Le Mans weather is… unpredictable.

  • Layers (warm evenings are not guaranteed)

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Comfortable walking shoes

  • Flip flops and “action” sandals

You’ll cover serious ground over the weekend.

And yes - bring sunscreen. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

✔️ A comfortable base set-up

The Team Langoustine site has a large marquee, with plenty of seating and TVs showing the race coverage.

You can leave the gazebos in the shed but maybe bring some camp chairs and a torch or headlamp for gatherings around your tent.

Think “relaxed campsite,” not survival mode.

🚗 Packing mindset: small car vs big set-up

This campsite works for both—but your approach should differ.

Travelling light (sports car / limited space):

  • Focus on essentials

  • Keep it compact

  • Let the Team Langoustine catering team do the heavy lifting

More space (estate / van):

  • Add comfort (better bed, seating, shade)

  • But don’t overbuild—you’re not moving in

  • Shelter from the sun (or the rain) in the ample Team Langoustine marquee

🧠 The big shift

Camping at Team Langoustine isn’t about surviving the weekend.

It’s about enjoying it.

You’ve removed:

  • Cooking stress

  • Facility struggles

  • The usual campsite chaos

So pack accordingly.

Don’t forget:

  • Your debit card

  • Your toothbrush

  • A spare set of pants and socks

  • And your sense of humour

🏁 Final thought

Most Le Mans packing guides are built around roughing it.

Team Langoustine Premier Camping is not that.

With catering, proper facilities, and a solid base, you only need to bring what makes your weekend comfortable - not complicated.

Pack light. Pack smart. Leave space for the experience. Relax and enjoy!
